Joplin: Open Source Note Taking App

There are many ways to take and keep notes. On macOS, I use mainly OmniOutliner, but since I’m planning to switch to Linux in the future, I’m always on a look out for alternatives. As of this writing there isn’t one for Omni, but I did come across Joplin today. It’s a nicely designed app for storing all your notes (plaintext markdown) in a single database file locally. Images can be attached, but only shows up when in markdown preview mode. This doesn’t replace Omni for me, but it’s a solution to having all my note files scattered all over my OS.

Here's my change to the app via CSS:

.side-bar {
	background-color: #2d2d2d !important;
}

div + div + div + div + div + div input  {
	font-family: sans-serif !important;
	font-size: 16px !important;
	font-weight: bold !important;
	border: none !important;
}

.editor-toolbar .fa {
	font-size: 14px !important;
	opacity: 0.5 !important;
}
.tag-list {
	opacity: 0.5 !important;
}

#note-editor {
	line-height: 1.7em !important;
}

.ace_content {
	opacity: 0.90 !important;
}
.ace_heading {
	font-weight: bold;
}
.ace_string.ace_strong {
	font-weight: bold;
}
.ace_string.ace_emphasis {
	font-style: italic;
}
