True Awakening

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:9)

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

Initially, I spent 10 years wandering, searching for truth and enlightenment as an atheist/agnostic, lost and without hope. Then I found the Truth (He found me, to be precise) in 2010. I have been following Christ since then, and studying the Bible for about 10 years now (as of 2020). In summary, there are many labyrinth of deceptions out there. This blog is primary about visual art, and I intent to keep it that way. However, there’s a battle for your soul, and the key to winning and overcoming the great deception is to follow the True Light: “Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” (Jesus, John 18:37). Listen to others, be open, learn, ask questions, but never put your trust in man or leader: Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.” (Jeremiah 17:5). “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.” (Psalms 146:3).

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many...” (Matthew 24:3-5)

The first thing that Jesus says in response to His disciples is: “Take heed that no man deceive you.” Welcome to the age of deceit! False prophets, apostles, teachers, and deceivers are many. So beware and alert, my friends. To see through the deceptions, first, you must recognize who you are before God. Then find out who Jesus is and grow in your relationship with Him. Without this relationship with the Creator through His Son, and without the knowledge of His word, you won’t stand a chance. Here in this page, I’ll provide links that I consider to be a very good starting point to help you in your search and journey. Remember… Jesus Christ and His word (Holy Scriptures) is the ultimate authority and guide—never lose sight of that.

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”(2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

“The devil is not fighting religion. He’s too smart for that. He is producing a counterfeit Christianity, so much like the real one that good Christians are afraid to speak out against it. We are plainly told in the Scriptures that in the last days men will not endure sound doctrine and will depart from the faith and heap to themselves teachers to tickle their ears. We live in an epidemic of this itch, and popular preachers have developed ‘ear-tickling’ into a fine art.” — Vance Havner

“There is also an aspect of spiritual warfare in our ministry that must be acknowledged. If you don’t think demons are real, try planting a church! You won’t get very far in advancing God’s kingdom without feeling resistance from the enemy. As modern westerners we often forget that we have an enemy and that he actively opposes us. Becoming a dependent man means becoming more aware of the spiritual warfare going on all around us, recognizing our part in that unseen reality (Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 10:3). We are not called to [defeat] the Devil—Christ has already done that at the cross, and the days until his final and complete triumph over Satan are numbered. What we are called to do is [resist] the Enemy (James 4:7) and become firm in our faith (1 Peter 5:9). God will be faithful to protect us and to give us help against Satan’s assaults.” — Darrin Patrick (Church Planter)

“Look at the Book is a new online method of teaching the Bible. It’s an ongoing series of 5–10 minute videos in which the camera is on the text, not the teacher. You will hear John’s voice and watch his pen underline, circle, make connections, and scribble notes — all to help you learn to read God’s word for yourself. His goal is to help you not only see what he sees, but where he sees it and how he found it.” — “At Olive Tree Bible Software, we believe that God’s love transforms lives and that transformation often happens as we study and engage with His Word.
